These screen shots were taken after using the shell swap feature of 98lite version 4.5 professional on Windows ME. This version still has all the features mentioned on the other pages, but it has some new features and options as well.

I found this boot screen in the 98lite setup folder although it didn't install over the default one when I just did a shell swap.

98lite can install the faster non-webby shell from Windows 95. On slower computers this by itself can result in a big speed increase.

The 95 shell is its own independent program that does not rely on Microsoft Internet Explorer components to run. And it doesn't insult your intelligence by sticking Internet Explorer in your face every time you click on something.
